Cerevo has announced the availability of the Live Shell in the Japanese market. Measuring 68mm x 120mm x 26mm and weighing 106 grams, the device enables you to stream live video to the web via Ustream without using a computer. The Live Shell connects to the internet via Wi-Fi, a mobile router or Ethernet. Its rechargeable battery offers up to 3-hour of operation time. The gadget also offers several connectivity options such as HDMI, USB, and Composite. The Cerevo Live Shell is priced at 26,800 Yen or around $349.

Microsoft Research and the Carnegie Mellon Human Computer Interaction Institute have collaborated to create the OmniTouch. It is a wearable device that turns any surface in the user’s environment such as notebooks, walls, body parts, or tables into a touch interface. The OmniTouch enables graphical, interactive, multitouch input on everyday surfaces. The device uses a pico projector and a 3D scanner that work on a similar principle to the Microsoft Kinect.
