Apple Unveils iPhone 4S

After 16 months of waiting, Apple finally unveiled the
next-gen iPhone, but it wasn't the iPhone 5 that many
of us were expecting. Instead, we got the iPhone 4S:
Apple's safe bet until the iPhone 5 is ready
(http://www.extremetech.com/computing/98693-iphone-4s-apples-safe-bet-until-the-iphone-5-is-ready).
We took a look at how the iPhone 4S stacks up against
the iPhone 4
(http://www.extremetech.com/mobile/98497-apple-iphone-4s-vs-iphone-4),
and it seems like an excellent phone. The overwhelmingly
popular feature is a software package called Siri
(http://www.extremetech.com/computing/98491-what-is-apples-siri-and-will-anyone-use-her),
which, among other things, may be another nail
in the coffin

Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet Released

With four new models on the market, Amazon now offers
seven Kindles, and we're here to help you understand
the differences between all of them.
We listed five ways
that the Kindle Fire beats the iPad
(http://www.extremetech.com/computing/97737-5-ways-the-kindle-fire-beats-the-ipad),
and also told you all about Amazon Silk, which bridges the
gap between desktop and mobile web browsers
(http://www.extremetech.com/mobile/97587-amazon-silk-bridging-the-gap-between-desktop-and-tablet-web-browsers).
It all seems great, but we're
still wondering if Amazon Silk is safe to use
(http://www.extremetech.com/mobile/98279-amazon-silks-fast-new-web-should-you-use-it),
and if/when the Kindle Fire3G with free music,
TV, and movie streaming
(http://www.extremetech.com/computing/97899-where-is-the-kindle-fire-3g-with-free-music-tv-and-movie-streaming)
is coming?

What is HTML5, and Why it Will Save the Web from Itself

System Building Isn't Dead (Yet)

Often enough we've heard that computer building is dead
but we've been able to shrug it off. As the post-PC era
approaches, that might not be so hard to believe.
